Top 3 considerations for planning your next event

Planning a successful event can be a tricky prospect, especially when you are new to the event planning scene. There are a lot of things to plan, and many variables that can make the process difficult – and sometimes can even ruin your event altogether, God forbid. There are a few priority items that need to be in the forefront of your mind when you are planning a new event, and we have written this article to help you keep your planning process organized properly so nothing goes wrong – we want to help your big day go down in style!

Venue, venue, venue!

The single most important priority for any event planner is to secure a venue for your event. No party or ball can take place without an elegant and appropriate location. When shopping for a venue for your next event, of course you will need to factor in budget, location (aka distance from your attendees), style, and function/amenities.

Refreshments!

No event is complete without food and drink – especially when guests are going to be attending for any extended period of time. If you are looking to have a catered event, you need to make sure and contact potential catering services well in advance – many times they are booked up for weeks, even months. Be proactive once you have your venue locked in to avoid being forced into making a catering decision that will leave you and your guests unsatisfied.

Entertainment or Content!

Whether the event you are planning is recreational or business oriented, there’s a purpose for it. Your job as an event planner is to ensure that your guests are engaged at all times, which means you must plan out an agenda for your event and make all the necessary arrangements to ensure that agenda is followed to the letter. This is your third highest priority after the venue and refreshments – without getting this point in order, your event will surely be a flop!
